The Philadelphia Hockey Club, proud members of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), are pleased to announce that forward and captain Nick Vinson has committed to play NCAA Division III Ice Hockey for the Southern Maine University Huskies, who play in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). His commitment begins in the fall of 2025.
Vinson, a native of Brewer, ME, has 22 total points (15 goals and 7 assists) in twenty games this season. He is tied for most points on the team yet he leads the team in goals (15). Vinson played a season with the Philadelphia Hockey Club’s 18U AAA premier team during the 2022-23 season where he earned 14 total points (8 goals and 6 assists) in 31 games played. He also appeared in two games for the EHL team that season.
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped me to get to this point in my career,” said Vinson. “It takes a lot of hard work and I am grateful for all the time and support that has been given to me. I would like to thank coach Pinchevsky and the University of Southern Maine for this opportunity. Super Excited to get to work #gohuskies" concluded Vinson.
"We could not be happier for Nick and his Family,” said PHC head coach and general manager Adam Bartholomay. “Nick has earned every bit of this and we are very happy to have worked with Coach Pinchevsky. Nick has worked day in and day out to achieve his goals and one of those has been met with his commitment. We look forward to watching Nick grow as a Huskie” concluded Bartholomay.
Located in Portland, ME, Pinchevsky is in his second season as the Huskies head coach. "Our staff couldn't be more excited for the addition of Nicholas Vinson to our program,” said Pinchevsky. “Nick's a player that we've had our eye on for quite some time and step by step, he just keeps getting better. A true testament to his identity of being a very goal-oriented person. His ability, intangibles and character will all continue to develop within our program. We are very happy for Nick and his family and look forward to rooting him on the rest of the way with PHC. We appreciate all the guidance Coach Bartholomay provided in the process of Nick becoming a Husky. Go Dawgs!” stated Pinchevsky.
