Philadelphia Hockey Club’s 16U Elite (08/09) won the Atlantic Youth Hockey League’s (AYHL) 2025 championship in dramatic fashion when they defeated the New Jersey Devils Youth 16U 2 – 1 in overtime.
PHC won their first game 2 – 1 by defeating the New York Saints. Brandon Dovey scored in regulation and then Carmine Laspata scored 1:20 into overtime to send PHC into the finals. Patrick Murphy stopped 36 of 37 shots.
PHC then faced the Devils Youth, who defeated the North Jersey Avalanche 5 – 2 to advance to the title game. Chase MacAdams scored in the first period to give PHC the early lead then The Devils scored with twenty-two seconds remaining in the opening period to tie the game. After regulation finished in a tie forcing the extra period, Ben Fisher scored with fifteen second remaining in overtime to give PHC the AYHL Championship.
