PHC 12U Minor wins AYHL Championship for three-peat

The Philadelphia Hockey Club’s 12U Minor (2013) team won the 2025 Atlantic Youth Hockey League’s (AYHL) championship, earning them the third straight season in which they won their respective level’s league title. In all, they outscored their opponents by a combined score of 18 to 2.

PHC defeated the Long Island Royals 5 – 0. Nash Tobias, Raymond Cacia, Torin Chamberlain, Luke Seiden and Kellan McDonough lit the lamp while Max Gowdy stopped all 14 shots he faced.

PHC then went on to blank the Valley Forge Minutemen 4 – 0. Asher Clements had a pair of goals while Lewis Palatnik and Mike Longo also hit the back of the net. Gowdy turned aside all 16 shots.

In their third and final round robin game, PHC defeated the Philadelphia Little Flyers 6 – 0. Joseph DiGaetano had a hat trick while Victor Ruggere, McDonough and Clements also scored. Gowdy stopped 9 of 9 shots to put PHC back in the league championship.

In a rematch, PHC defeated the Minutemen 3 – 2 when Cacia scored with 1:32 remaining in the game to win the contest. DiGaetano had a pair of goals and Gowdy stopped 14 of 16 shots.
